Meet The Team
Megan Maienfisch is the current owner and trainer of LJ Equestrian. She has been a Hunter/Jumper trainer in the North Texas region for several years. Where in her younger years she began competing, she now takes her students to the same level. Megan has extensive knowledge and experience in many avenues of the horse industry. Megan has played many roles including (but not limited to) a working student, groom for Grand Prix, barn manager, exercise rider, and vet tech. However, her most favorite passion of all is being an instructor.
During her time as a groom for the Grand Prix, she was given the opportunity to compete on the upper east coast at the upper levels. During this time, Megan spent countless hours traveling to compete and training with some of the best of the best. Although she had the realization that being heavily involved in the AA circuit was not aligned with her long-term goals, this opportunity certainly catapulted her career in the horse industry.
It all started with a carousel pony ride when she was four years old, and by six, she was enrolled in lessons full-time and never looked back. “If you asked my six-year-old self what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have shouted: A HORSE TRAINER! It fills my heart with so much joy to be doing just that, raising the next generation of horsemen and horsewomen” - she says. Megan has a firm yet supportive teaching style and will always do everything within her power to help make your equestrian dreams come true.

As a Personal Assistant, I support the daily operations of the program and assist with the management of riding schedules, events, and rider communications. My role involves coordinating between riders and instructors to ensure smooth and efficient operations. My goal is to ensure that all aspects of our program runs seamlessly and that each rider has the best possible experience.
My passion for horses and dedication to excellence drives me to support our riders and team in every way possible. I manage schedules, assist with event planning, and ensure that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Outside of work, I have been a part of Megan's program for years and have competed alongside many of her riders. I'm currently in college to be an equine surgeon where I hope to specialize in kissing spines surgery. I’m excited to bring that same level of enthusiasm and care to our equestrian community!
